Why are some people more creative than others?

 

What I find very interesting about this article is the concept of the article itself. Since I consider myself to be a creative person, the idea that some people may not be as creative as I am is intriguing. The study within the article was a test of "divergent thinking" in which participants were asked to "think of new and unusual uses for objects". As they did the test fMRI scans were performed, which measured blood flow to parts of the brain. The study showed that the people who find new and interesting ideas to use the objects had more creative hobbies. 

I feel like the results of the test makes a lot of sense because creativity, in my opinion, branches into many different aspects of life. If you consider yourself to be a more creative person, than everything that you do will have a creative spin on it, whether you realize it or not. I also don't think that people who consider themself to be not creative, are necessarily lacking creativity. I believe they just don't know how to put their thoughts, words and actions into a creative process such as writing, painting, drawing, etc. It is my belief that everyone can be creative, they just need to know how to!
